It's hard to believe we are almost a third of the way through the fantasy season. Let's take a look at all of the action from Week 5 with a Dynasty perspective.
The Cardinals Offensive Line is horrific folks. 17 sacks allowed in the last two weeks. Among the worst we have ever seen. The rushing attack out of Arizona will be a disaster all year and with Ryan Williams lost for the season to a shoulder injury, next in line is preseason stud William Powell. It's time to consider buying low on Ryan Williams if you have the roster depth and patience to wait until next season for worthwhile production.
Rams rookie RB Daryl Richardson has some nice burst. Watch his progress, he looks to be a better player than preseason darling Isaiah Pead. Greg "the leg" Zuerlein may be the top offensive weapon on the team though. Chris Givens has piqued our interest however.
Hopefully you traded away Brian Hartline last week. He's a good player, but his stock was as high as it will ever be, last week. We like what we are seeing from Ryan Tannehill. He's got some gunslinger in him. It may be worth targeting him as his value deflates a bit from his big time Week 4 performance.
Andrew Luck is the real deal, as expected. A big time player that performs in big spots. His production has been overshadowed by the flashy production of RGIII. TY Hilton is the top young reciever on the Colts roster.
The Packers have protection issues. Aaron Rodgers is taking a beating, they need to establish a rushing game. Cedric Benson is injured. Is it Alex Green time? There may be some sneaky value here. The Packers should take a rushing lesson from the Pats who are currently ranked 3rd in the league in rushing. Jermichael Finley will not a be a Packer next season - the hype has worn off. Next in line, DJ Williams?
Torrey Smith is highly talented, and highly inconsistent. We need to see more before we can put complete trust in him. Joe Flacco had an off-week however, nothing to be concerned about, but might be worth trying to buy him from a frustrated owner this week.
Cyrus Gray has 62 total yards on 5 touches over the weekend. He is a very deep sleeper to keep an eye on in KC. with over 100 receptions in college, he can catch the rock and is the 2nd best RB on the Chiefs roster.
Welcome back Rashard Mendenhall. It is time to reevaluate how we perceive RB's coming off ACL injury.
Michael Vick is killing your fantasy team...that includes the values of DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek. Dude isn't getting any better and if someone still believes in your Dynasty league, ship him out. Or at the very least, grab Nick Foles.
Matt Ryan is playing out of his mind. A case for MVP if he keeps it up.
Alfred Morris is an old school style RB that will be making a legitimate climb in our soon to be updated RB rankings. We're impressed.
Russell Wilson is a rookie QB that got way overhyped in the preseason. He's got a long leash, but this competition is not over as long as he plays decent from week to week.
Cam Newton is not playing good football right now at all. I wonder if a lack of success is getting in his head. The Seahawks defense is Nasty however, but he's a work in progress that needs to learn to go through his read progressions. He is forcing the ball to Steve Smith and missing a wide open Greg Olsen all day. Buy low in a Dynasty on Cam right now.
Jay Cutler proves it once again, he only performs well against mediocre talent.
Blaine Gabbert...Preseason Darling.
The Titans offense is very bad. Chris Johnson is also very bad...or lazy. Either way, this team needs the spark Jake Locker can give them, but it's gonna be tough all season long.
Percy Harvin is having a monster year. He's incredibly explosive that would be nearly impossible to stop if the Vikings add another legit receiving option.
Christian Ponder is putting together a nice season. He has legitimate upside.
Demaryius Thomas loves the bubble screen. If you don't know this already, he has some big-time talent.
Ryan Mathews picks up big chunks of yardage very quickly. He is deceivingly powerful and very fast. If he can put it all together, he can be as fantasy productive as any player in the league.
Rookie RB David Wilson looks progressively better each week. He is noticeably faster than everyone else in the open field.
The NFC West is the best division in football. Collectively, most wins in the league and least amount of points against.
Thankfully the Bucs were on bye this week. If I had to see HC Greg Schiano conduct his idiotic stripped ball strategy while his opposition was in a victory formation for a third week in a row, I was gonna lose my mind.
Congratulations to Drew Brees and his consecutive game TD passing record previously held by Johnny Unitas. Drew Brees is a class act, elite QB.
The 49ers have outscored their last two opponents 79-3.
